Hi, I’m Alana, esthetician and Day Spa owner. I’m frequently asked “how do you get your foundation and your skin to look so good,” so my little secret is tinted sunscreen. Now I use Lucrece Physicians Aesthetic Research as my sunscreen, as my concealer and as my foundation. So what I do is mix the light tint and the tinted together and basically I can customize the color that I want as foundation for the day. So if it’s the summertime, I use more of the tinted which is darker and if it’s the winter I use more of the light tint. So I mix the 2 together, mix it with my fingers and I apply and it’s great because it a really good concealer for the under eye area, around the nose, where you’re red and it doesn’t cake in and accentuate the wrinkles like a lot of other foundations do. So it’s Lucrece Physicians… aesthetic Research – it’s a tongue twister – a lot of people will ask me how to pronounce that and that is what I do and I think is the quickest and the best way to have a flawless foundation for your makeup.
Foundation is really just that: a foundation. It’s simply a base, intended to cover up blemishes, smooth out features, etc, before applying your makeup (your blush, mascara, lip gloss, etc). So why is getting the foundation right so important? The more natural and blemish-free your foundation is, before any makeup is applied, the less makeup you’ll need to use. This will give you a much more natural look in the end, and will be easier on your skin in the long run! And since this foundation just happens to be sunscreen, you’ll have automatic sun protection!
